Atrial Fibrillation
Overview
Irregularly Irregular
Atrial rate: 400 to 600 bpm
Predisposing factors: age, valve pathology, thyrotoxicosis, left atrial enlargement.
Treatment
Rate control first with beta-blocker, CCB, or Digoxin.
Then cardioversion. Use anticoagulation if A-Fib present for more than 48 hours.
